Website Design for Photographers in Malaysia

Your photos deserve better than a compressed Instagram grid. We build custom-coded portfolio websites for Malaysian photographers — image-heavy galleries that still load fast, clear package pages, and a booking flow that turns enquiries into consultations.

Why an Instagram grid is not a portfolio

Instagram is a discovery channel, not a portfolio. It compresses your images, buries your best work under whatever you posted last week, and shows none of the things a serious client actually wants: your packages, your pricing, your availability, and a simple way to book a consultation. When a couple is shortlisting wedding photographers, they compare two or three websites side by side — and if you only have a social profile, you are often not on that shortlist at all.

There is also the ownership problem. Your Instagram reach depends on an algorithm you do not control. A website is yours: your galleries presented the way you intend, your enquiries landing in your inbox, and a page Google can actually rank. We wrote more about this trade-off in website vs social media for Malaysian businesses.

What we build for photographers

The hard part of a photography website is technical: hundreds of large images on a site that still has to load quickly on a phone. We build every site as a custom-coded site using Next.js — no WordPress, no page builders — with responsive image sizing, modern formats, and lazy loading, so full-resolution galleries stay sharp without dragging the page down. Every build targets 95+ Lighthouse performance scores.

Around the galleries, we build the pages that convert browsers into bookings: package and pricing pages laid out clearly, a consultation booking form, and WhatsApp integration so clients can reach you the way Malaysians actually communicate. We also structure the site for the searches that matter — think "wedding photographer" plus a city name — with proper on-page SEO on each service and location page.

We are a new studio, so we will be straight with you: we do not show client work we have not done. Instead, we designed and built LUXE Photography — a full demo concept for an editorial wedding photographer, with portfolio galleries and consultation booking — and put it live so you can click through it on a real connection, not squint at screenshots. Browse it and the rest of our demo builds in the showcase, and judge the loading speed and gallery experience for yourself.

What a photographer website costs

For most photographers, the Business package at RM3,500 is the right fit: up to 8 pages (home, portfolio galleries, packages, about, blog, contact), custom design, on-page SEO, a lead form, and WhatsApp integration, delivered in 2 to 3 weeks. If you want a more bespoke editorial feel with custom animations and advanced SEO across up to 12 pages, the Pro package at RM7,500 covers that. Every package includes 3 months of free hosting. Full details are on our pricing page, and there are no hidden line items — you get an itemised quote before anything starts.

Process and timeline

Send us your enquiry and you will have a free quote, itemised, within 1 business day — WhatsApp works fine if that is easier. From there we agree on structure, you supply your photos (we handle all the optimisation and compression), and we design and build. A Business-tier site typically goes from first call to launch in 2 to 3 weeks.

Stacky is a founder-led, SSM-registered studio based in Kuala Lumpur, and we work with photographers across Malaysia. After launch, optional care plans from RM50 per month cover updates and keep the site healthy, with responses within 1 business day, Monday to Friday.

Frequently asked questions

A typical portfolio site on our Business package takes 2 to 3 weeks from kick-off to launch. A simpler 1-3 page site on the Starter package takes about a week. The most common delay is gathering photos and package details, so having those ready shortens the timeline considerably.
